Roses + Valentine Question

Look what my darling came home with recently:
He was out shopping on a Saturday with the kiddos [which alone spells L-O-V-E to us moms, anyway, doesn't it???] and he and my daughter picked these out "for mommy and me to share," she tells me. :-) So sweet!!

So I grabbed my favorite vase - this classic pewter pitcher - added a ribbon and silver tag (that usually finds it's home on a little wall cabinet) - and have been enjoying these roses immensely!

Also because I know he bought them BEFORE they cost a gazillion dollars per stem - and I know many of you fellow frugal types agree - it's almost hard to enjoy roses at that cost, right?! Store-bought flowers are a rare treat at our home and that's the way I like it. My hubby knows I love flowers and he is so thoughtful to often surprise me with sweet wildflower bouquets that he picks on his many biking and running expeditions out in the hinterlands! What "unconventional thing" does your husband do for you that spells L-O-V-E?

How do you plan to show your love for him in return on Valentine's Day? see my previous Valentine post for one idea.... and may I emphasize the little coupon?? :-)

Ohhhh...my husband must be king of unconvetional romance. Anything from making dinner, to letting me sleep in, to playing music for me, to recording a CD for me, to writing list of things he appreciates about me, to giving me flowers and rocks from hikes, to going to long drives together, to going clothes shopping with me, to building a fire in our wood stove early in the morning, to cuddling, to praying together, to e-mailing me from his work... He's so good at making "every day" things meaningful and romantic. And this year in addition to all the usual, he decided to go more convetional and take me to a bed and breakfast for Valentines day! He even managed to get a great deal on a two night stay in one of the nicest rooms. I'm so ecxited! Anyway...enough of my bragging. I'm thankful to have gotten such a good one.

He takes walks with me, even though he'd rather not, just because he knows how much I enjoy an evening stroll. He builds me raised garden beds just in time for my spring garden. He wakes up with the children and allows me to sleep in. He maintains my car because he's mechanically inclined and he knows how much I love a dependable car.

Valentines day happens to be my birthday...I love your puter pitcher with the tag...one of my favorite sayings.

How will I show love this valentines day? I show my appreciation for the loving things he does on a regular basis...and I will keep any negative comments to myself...

Currently the love of my life is borrowing a back hoe and clearing land outside my bedroom window. His plans are to plant a kitchen garden, herb garden, and flower garden. He also plans to build a gazebo and create a stone bench around a 'married' tree. My unconditional act of love for him... even though I'm absolutely worthless at this kind of thing.. I'll be outside with him the entire time. He loves my companionship and even if I'm not much help, he thinks I am. lol And it's the 'being together' that he craves. Funny, we've been together over 25 years now and he still wants my company. That's kinda neat.

Since I don't have a husband, I can't answer the question.

But my wife? She is amazing at calling out and affirming giftedness and godly character in my life that I'm not aware of and are not quite yet on the surface for everyone to see. She has a way of expecting the best, and affirming that. She sees things in me that I don't.

And she isn't a rose fan, so that lets me be extra inventive for Valentine's day.

The sweetest thing my husband does, one among many, is whenever he is up, he always ALWAYS asks if I need anything. It can be as simple as a kleenex, a drink of water or as complex as a sandwich, and he is sure to get it.

I love that little sign hanging from the flowers- "live with intention", that's great. Is that one of your products? If not, where'd you find it?

My hubby is so sweet- he surprises me with flower every once in a while as well which I love. He's been surprising me with a clean kitchen and folded laundry a lot lately which is also wonderful!

Amy,
The "Live with intention" hanging sign thing was a little find in a clearance basket in a theater gift shop. :-)
I just looked on the back and see no company tag or markings... maybe it's even handmade ...
