Remember Zelda? She was the entertaining proprietor of a fun antique shop in Carpinteria, CA where we picked up this great old surfboard for my little guy's bedroom:It was all rustic white, which I loved, but I wanted to add something to it. Originally I was going to paint a fun shark logo ... but settled on a classic "Lifeguard" and striped look so he won't outgrow it in a minute. Here is my garage floor painting station:
I typed the lettering on the computer and then used tracing paper to outline them on the board. Good old painter's tape helped me paint straight lines. I'm still undecided on sanding the part I painted so it looks as antiqued as the old white underneath? Should I go for it? I suppose I could try it on one stripe and if it looks terrible I could re-paint, right? :-) Here is it's home on his bedroom wall, right above the surfer dude lamp I made last fall:
This footprint art features an old Woody wagon - I bought it at a Piggies & Paws party from my friend Jennifer who is a rep: I repainted a red TJ's-clearance-aisle fish I had in an office ages ago. Now it suits his beachy blue theme:
Fun starfish pop off the wall above a window:
